The Land Rover Defender sales reach an all-time high of 1,15,405 units in FY25 courtesy of the demand across the globe
Due to worldwide demand, Land Rover Defender sales in FY25 hit an all-time high of 1,15,404 units. Jaguar Land Rover reported £7.7 billion in revenue at the end of the fourth quarter of FY25, a 1.7% decrease from the same time the previous year.
Due to the momentum created by the high sales of certain of its products, the British automaker achieved its tenth straight quarter of profitability.
In FY25, sales of the Land Rover Defender hit a record-breaking 1,15,404 units. The recently concluded free trade agreement between India and the United Kingdom may help the tough premium off-roader, which is also a favorite among Indians, by lowering its pricing considerably.
The Defender Octa was first offered by Land Rover in the Indian market in March 2025, with an ex-showroom base price of Rs. 2.59 crore. The more expensive Edition One model cost Rs. 20 lakh extra. The Octa has a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with mild hybrid technology under the hood. It has a powerful 626 horsepower and a maximum torque of 800 Nm.
Because of this, the Octa is the most powerful Defender version to date. The Defender Octa's V8 engine allows it to reach a top speed of 250 kmph and complete the 0 to 100 kmph dash in a scorching 3.8 seconds. An automated gearbox with eight speeds channels power.
The Octa is one of the most potent and capable SUVs on the market right now thanks to a number of chassis and mechanical improvements over the standard model. Demand for JLR's electrified choices increased over the most recent fiscal year, and plug-in hybrid vehicles experienced a 21.7% increase in global retail sales year over year. With a 38.2% surge in PHEV demand, the Range Rover brand spearheaded that charge.
In FY25, wholesale volumes for the Range Rover Sport increased 19.7% year over year as well. In honor of its design heritage, Range Rover celebrated its 55 years in the market by attending Milan Design Week.
The brand launched 21 limited edition SV trims for international markets, including China, Taiwan, Japan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and the United Kingdom, as part of its market expansion plan.
